Product Area: Notes 8 Client
Technical Area: Install
Platform: Linux
Release: Notes and Domino 8 - GOLD
Reproducible: Always

Hi,

I have successfully installed Notes 8 Gold on Linux Ubuntu Feisty Fawn.
Only one thing have to be changed manually after installing notes 8
The /data directory which is created in the users home directory (/users/[USERNAME]/lotus/)
is owned by root after installation. This results in a problem that you can not start the notes client with the command:
/opt/ibm/lotus/notes/framework/../notes

so to fix this problem you have to change the owner of the lotus data directory to your current user

>sudo chown -R /home/[USERNAME]/lotus/
>sudo chgrp -R /home/[USERNAME]/lotus/

after that everything works great!
